Roboplant

(Music, SFX, FMOD implementation)

„In a future not too far away, humans are finally able to harvest food on alien planets. Embark on a new journey with your team of robots called Beebop 179. Build and manage a hydroponic farm, grow delicious plants and survive the mysterious challenges of outer space. ”

I was hired in May 2022 to create the entire audio layer for Roboplant: I did the music, sound effects and implementation via FMOD Studio. I also designed the dynamic music system through which the music changes based on the time of day (there are four tracks; each of them has a Day and Night version and FMOD randomly chooses one of them whenever the daytime period starts and ends.). During dangerous Planetary Events, the soundtrack transitions into more serious music. By utilizing sidechain compression from within FMOD, I also created a system through which the music’s volume ducks the more the player zooms in, which allows the sound effects to shine.

● Full audio – 48 sound effects (GUI, diegetic, player interactions; most of them including multiple assets to avoid machine gun effect), 23 minutes of music for gameplay and main menu, trailer music

● FMOD implementation

● Creation of dynamic music system in FMOD which changes the music based on time of day and dangerous Planetary Events. Day/Night music consists of four tracks each, and the corresponding FMOD event allows for moments of silence in the gameplay, through using an empty track, or  sometimes ending a track without looping and triggering a different track from the four available

● Creation of dynamic system in FMOD which turns down the music’s volume as the player zooms in
