Lethal Dose

Lethal Dose

(Music, SFX FMOD implementation)

In this violent top-down roguelike, you fight your way through multiple unique levels with a playstyle that suits you: stealthy kill off enemies one by one, or kick down the door and give ’em hell. Features: bullet time, sound detection radius around every gunshot, random drug-based power-ups, psychedelic atmosphere.

Lethal Dose is a game where time slows down when an enemy notices you, so the sound effects that I have made had to sound good both in slow motion and in real time. I recorded or created (based on sound effects libraries) sounds for: rifle, pistol and shotgun shot, bullet impacts (bullet hitting the enemy), knife, sword and baseball bat impacts, and a “dash” ability: aiming and doing the dash (aiming is split into two events in FMOD, depending on whether the player will dash instantly after aiming or if they aim longer). Most sound effects have multiple variations (assets) and almost all of them have small pitch randomization added, which keeps them fresh event after a long time.

In terms of music, I have written two 4-minute aggressive, psybient tracks. The tracks will be implemented in such a way that they will loop within one level, just like in Hotline Miami.

● Fighting sounds (rifle/pistol/shotgun shots, knife, sword and baseball bat impacts, bullet impacts, and the sound for the special “dash” ability (aiming and executing the dash)

● FMOD implementation

● Music: two 4-minute tracks (to be implemented)
